Rainbow Girls Visit April 9   On April 9 we will once again have as our guests members of Natick Assembly No. 28, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.  They are celebrating the founding of the Order, which was established on April 6, 1922 by Rev. W. Mark Sexson, who organized and wrote the ritual for this youth organization. Fiona Burke-Scovill is the current Worthy Advisor and chose St. Paul’s for the Assembly’s church attendance this year, because they all enjoyed the service last year and the congregation’s welcoming greetings and brunch afterwards.

April 9 Last Day to Buy Easter Flowers Help beautify the altar on Easter Sunday by purchasing tulips, daffodils, or lilies for $10 apiece.  The flowers, which can be designated as being in memory or thanksgiving for someone special, may be taken home after the Easter service or left for shut-ins.  Please fill out a form and return to Jane Desilets no later than April 9.

Pansies for Pancreatic Cancer Alliance Bob Snyder will deliver pansies to St. Paul’s Chuch on Easter Sunday this year, using the same basic process that we have used in past years.  The pansies are in 5-inch pots, ready to go straight into the ground or into your window planters. (These plants thrive on the cold weather of April by the way.) Each pot is $5.00. Profits from this sale go directly to the Pancreatic Cancer Alliance (PCA). The PCA raises funds to support Pancreatic Cancer Research at UMass Medical in Worcester. This group has zero administrative costs so each $5 donation is split between product cost to the nursery and the PCA research fund. Please let Bob know how many pots you’d like. You can pay him on Easter Sunday or before or after by cash or check. Make checks out to the “Pancreatic Cancer Alliance.”  If you don’t get your order in to Bob, then any surplus in his order will still be available on Easter Sunday. If Easter Sunday doesn’t work for your pick up, other pick up arrangements will be made.  Bob’s email is bobsnyder21961@gmail.com. His home phone is 508-435-4528 where you can leave a message.

We’re Cooking with Gas Again!  We recently replaced our stove, a necessary expenditure due to its age, condition and ongoing gas issues.  To help defray the cost, we received gifts from the Ehrenzellers, the Fosters, and the Thiels.  We thank them for their generous donations, and also thank all who worked on this project.

Newsletter Available  The March/April edition of the church  newsletter is now available!   Copies can be found at the church entrances.  Thanks to Karen Scheffler and Lori Robak for their work on this important communications piece.

Ash Wednesday March 1   Ash Wednesday, March 1, is the beginning of the Christian world’s observance of Lent, the season of penitence and intimacy with God. Each Sunday during Lent we will use the first part of the liturgy– the Liturgy of the Word– to practice the presence of God through a deep attending to the Scriptures and a special hymn selected for that purpose. The service will be at 7:00 pm.
