Community Picnic Sunday!  The Community Picnic is being held Sunday on the front lawn of St. Paul’s, which will include members of St. Paul’s, Community Covenant Church, the Sanctuary at Woodville (formerly Woodville Baptist Church), and the Islamic Masumeen Center.  The picnic starts at noon, please bring a dish to share.  Helpers are welcome to assist with clean-up afterwards.

Blood Drive August 4  St. Paul’s will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood drive in the parish hall on Friday, August 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.   This area is facing an emergency blood shortage so please come and roll up your sleeve to donate to this life-saving cause.  More information is available on Blood Drive flyers and posters, which can be found where you pick up the church bulletins.  Please also take some flyers with you to share with your neighbors and friends and get the word out about the blood drive.

Back-to-School Collection through July 30  Instead of doing a food pantry collection in August, St. Paul’s will be collecting school supplies for Project Just Because from now until July 30.   The following items are requested:

– 3 ring binders (2 inch)                                                  – rulers
– index cards                                                                     – filler paper
– folders                                                                              – scissors
– calculators                                                                      – highlighters
– erasers                                                                             – pencil sharpeners

Organ Fundraising Our beloved 134-year-old Hook & Hastings organ is in need of some serious repairs, so a special fundraising effort has been started to raise the $35,000 required to restore this historic instrument.  The first goal is to raise $10,000 by the end of 2017.  If you are interested in donating, please pay by check (payable to “St. Paul’s Hopkinton”) or cash – making sure to note “organ fund” on the check or envelope.  A display showing the current status of the fundraising is in the front entrance.   There is also a brochure available that features the history of the organ, the repairs needed, and details of the fundraising effort.  If you have any questions, please see Karen Scheffler.
